Designing and launching digital products with BCG Digital Ventures
Delivered multiple 0→1 product experiences, bringing new ventures from concept to launch.
The Opportunity
BCG X (formerly BCG Digital Ventures) specializes in helping global enterprises invent, launch, and scale new digital businesses through rapid innovation and venture-building methodologies. As part of that mission, the team needed a highly immersive experiential environment capable of showcasing concepts, technologies, and future-state ideas to prospective clients in a way that traditional presentations simply could not.
The challenge was to create a physically immersive storytelling experience that blended strategy, interaction design, motion, and environmental technology into a seamless presentation platform capable of supporting live business development conversations in real time.
Unlike traditional web or product experiences, the project needed to function simultaneously as a presentation tool, interactive installation, and spatial brand experience.
My Role
As Design Director, I led the experience design and creative direction for the Blackbox initiative, helping shape both the visual storytelling system and the interactive user experience across the environment.
I collaborated with multidisciplinary teams spanning strategy, engineering, motion, and experiential technology to define how content, interaction, and physical space would work together as a unified system. My role included directing interaction patterns, visual systems, motion behavior, information hierarchy, and the overall experiential narrative across the installation.

Approach
The experience was intentionally designed to feel cinematic, futuristic, and highly tactile — transforming client presentations into immersive collaborative sessions rather than passive slide-based meetings.
The installation lived across three vertically aligned large-format touch displays within a theater-like environment, allowing presenters and stakeholders to navigate dynamic content, venture concepts, market opportunities, and innovation frameworks interactively in real time.
A major focus of the project was creating fluid transitions between storytelling, data visualization, and interactive exploration while maintaining a polished and highly controlled presentation environment.
Key areas of focus included:
Designing a touch-first multi-screen experiential interface
Creating immersive storytelling systems for live client presentations
Developing motion and transition frameworks across synchronized displays
Translating complex business and innovation concepts into visually engaging experiences
Building flexible content structures that could adapt to multiple industries and client scenarios
Blending physical space, technology, and interaction into a cohesive branded environment
The project required thinking beyond traditional UI patterns and considering how pacing, scale, movement, lighting, and environmental context influenced the overall user experience.
Outcome
The final experience became a high-impact business development and storytelling platform that helped transform how BCG Digital Ventures engaged prospective clients during strategic presentations and innovation workshops.
By combining experiential design, real-time interaction, and immersive visual storytelling, Blackbox demonstrated how digital product thinking could extend beyond screens in the traditional sense and into physical environments. The project highlighted the intersection of technology, spatial design, and human interaction — showcasing a broader range of experience design capabilities beyond conventional web and mobile applications.
The work also reinforced BCGDV’s reputation as a forward-thinking innovation partner capable of blending strategy, technology, design, and storytelling into compelling future-focused experiences.
